Equality before the law is not just a legal promise; it is the foundation of a fair and humane world.

 

**When we say “all are equal before the law,”** we mean that the protection offered by legal institutions must apply to every individual without fear or favour. The law must not bend for the powerful, nor should it crush the weak. A society that fails to protect its vulnerable populations fails to uphold justice.

 

Unfortunately, discrimination—whether direct or indirect—still affects people across the world. Communities face unequal treatment, individuals face harassment, and many are denied opportunities simply because of who they are. Such prejudice not only violates human rights but also weakens the social fabric of nations. **Inciting discrimination is equally harmful**, as it encourages hostility, division, and violence. Every act of discrimination, however small, chips away at the dignity and safety of people.

 

To ensure equal protection of the law, we must strengthen awareness among citizens. People should know their rights, understand how to seek legal remedies, and feel empowered to report injustice. Law enforcement agencies, courts, and government bodies must act without bias and remain accountable for their actions. Transparent processes, fair investigations, and equal access to justice are crucial pillars of a healthy legal system.

 

At the community level, we must cultivate respect, empathy, and acceptance. Equality must not remain a legal phrase; it must become a lived reality. Schools, workplaces, and institutions should promote diversity and inclusivity. Media and civil society organizations must work together to counter discriminatory narratives and encourage unity.

 

Ultimately, **the promise of equal protection under the law belongs to every human being**, without exception. When we defend the rights of the marginalized, we strengthen our democracy. When we speak against discrimination, we stand for humanity. A society that guarantees justice to all is a society that truly progresses.

एक सभ्य, लोकतांत्रिक और न्यायपूर्ण समाज की नींव इस सिद्धांत पर टिकी होती है कि हर मानव कानून की नजर में समान है। मानवाधिकारों की सार्वभौमिक घोषणा इस बात को स्पष्ट करती है कि किसी भी व्यक्ति के साथ उसके धर्म, जाति, लिंग, भाषा, आर्थिक स्थिति, नस्ल, विचार या किसी भी अन्य पहचान के आधार पर भेदभाव नहीं किया जा सकता। कानून की समान सुरक्षा केवल एक संवैधानिक वादा नहीं, बल्कि एक मानवीय मूल्य है जो समाज को न्यायपूर्ण और सुरक्षित बनाता है।

 

जब हम कहते हैं “कानून के सामने सभी समान हैं,” तो इसका अर्थ है कि न्याय व्यवस्था को हर नागरिक के साथ बिना डर, बिना पक्षपात और बिना किसी विशेषाधिकार के व्यवहार करना चाहिए। कानून न तो शक्तिशाली लोगों के लिए झुकना चाहिए और न ही कमजोरों पर अत्याचार करना चाहिए। यदि समाज अपने कमजोर वर्गों की रक्षा करने में असफल होता है, तो न्याय का उद्देश्य अधूरा रह जाता है।

 

दुर्भाग्य से, भेदभाव आज भी अनेक रूपों में मौजूद है। कई लोग अपने अधिकारों से वंचित कर दिए जाते हैं, कई को अवसरों से दूर रखा जाता है, जबकि कुछ को समाजिक या आर्थिक कारणों से अनुचित व्यवहार झेलना पड़ता है। भेदभाव को बढ़ावा देना, उकसाना या उसका समर्थन करना भी उतना ही गंभीर अपराध है, क्योंकि यह समाज में विभाजन, नफरत और हिंसा को जन्म देता है।

 

इसलिए, आवश्यक है कि नागरिक अपने अधिकारों के प्रति जागरूक हों, यह समझें कि यदि उनके साथ अन्याय होता है तो वे कहां शिकायत कर सकते हैं, और कैसे न्यायिक सुरक्षा प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। न्याय संस्थानों, पुलिस और प्रशासन का दायित्व है कि वे बिना किसी पूर्वाग्रह के कार्य करें और पारदर्शी व्यवस्था को बनाए रखें।

 

समानता केवल कानून की किताबों तक सीमित नहीं रहनी चाहिए; इसे हमारे रोज़मर्रा के व्यवहार में भी दिखना चाहिए। स्कूलों, कार्यस्थलों और सार्वजनिक संस्थानों में समान अवसर और सम्मान का माहौल होना चाहिए।

 

अंततः, समानता और भेदभाव-मुक्त न्याय हर इंसान का जन्मसिद्ध अधिकार है। जब हम कमजोरों की आवाज़ बनते हैं, तो हम लोकतंत्र को मजबूत करते हैं। जब हम भेदभाव का विरोध करते हैं, तो हम मानवता की रक्षा करते हैं।
