AAP and BJP betray Delhiites with false, unfulfilled promises—Devender Yadav
NEW DELHI,—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadavaddressed a meeting of the Najafgarh District Congress Committee Executive Committee at Lord Apartments, Community Centre, Dwarka Sector 19-B today, as part of Delhi Congress’ concerted efforts to strengthen the party at the grass-root level. The meeting began with the rendition of Vande Mataram, and Shri Devender Yadav lighted the lamp. District president Shri Satbir Sharma presided over the meeting.
Shri Devender Yadav congratulated Jan Nayak Shri Rahul Gandhi for accepting the post of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha which will motivate people across the country to be associated with the Congress. He said that Shri Rahul Gandhi’s presence as the Leader of the Opposition will prevent the Modi Government from acting in an authoritarian and unilateral manner, to protect the rights of the people and the Constitution.
Besides Shri Devender Yadav, prominent among those who attended the meeting were Communication Department Chairman & Ex MLA Anil Bhardwaj, Ex MLA Sumesh Shokeen, Tasveer Solanki, Sushma Yadav, Anil Mitter, Rajesh Yadav and Jatin Sehrawat.
Addressing the meeting, Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress workers and leaders should work unitedly, forgetting personal differences, to strengthen the party at all levels. He said that contacts should be established with those Congress workers and leaders who had left the party for whatever reasons, to bring them back into the party. He said that the Block and District Congress Committees should hold meetings on 2nd and 5th of every month to maintain regular contacts with the workers and strengthen the party at the booth-level, interact with the local people to understand and solve their problems.
Shri Devender Yadav said that he has begun one-to-one interaction with the District and Block Congress Committee presidents, to give them an opportunity to express their views openly and frankly, and assured the Block presidents that status quo would be maintained for them to work with a free mind to strengthen the party. He said that Congress workers should establish contacts with social organizations, RWAs, NGOs and prominent citizens to enlarge the reach and scope of the party at the grass-root level, to understand the problems of the local residents.
