Atishi misuses the house allotted to her as a Minister at Mathura Road—plays the victim card when PWD locks 6, Flag Staff Road bungalow, to take inventory of the “Sheesh Mahal”—Devender Yadav
NEW DELHI, October 13, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that Chief Minister Atishi, who created a mega publicity stunt by sending out photos of her checking official files amidst packed cartons at her own house in Kalkaji, after the Public Works Department (PWD) under the AAP Government put a double lock on the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ at 6 Flag Staff Road, Civil Lines, which she occupied without getting a formal allotment letter from the PWD as former occupant Arvind Kejriwal had vacated it without handing over the keys to the PWD, as is the norm, was trying to play the victim card and blaming the Lt. Governor though she was guilty of misusing the official bungalow allotted to her at 17-AB, Mathura Road when she became a Minister one and a half years ago.
Shri Devender Yadav said that Atishi could have stayed at the Mathura Road house till the PWD completed the inventory at the Flag Staff Road residence, spread across several acres, where Kejriwal had carried out illegal constructions without getting approval for the layout plans from the concerned departments, to make his ‘Sheesh Mahal’ bigger than the official residences of the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of India, and which is yet to get official clearance from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), besides facing probes for the expenses illegally incurred for the reconstruction of the bungalow by merging some of the adjacent Government houses. He said that Atishi, in violation of rules and regulations, allowed Manish Sisodia’s family to continue residing at the Mathura Road bungalow even after he was jailed in connection with the liquor scam, like Kejriwal. He said that Sisodia’s occupation of the plush Government house was illegal, unethical and misuse of Government property, about which the LG should order a probe.
Shri Devender Yadav said that the Government bungalows in possession of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have become the refuge for the jail birds of AAP, who illegally occupy these houses at prime locations without any authority or allotment.
Shri Devender Yadav said that the AAP leaders have become so accustomed to the trappings of power, though it has been misleading the people by claiming to be a party of “aam aadmi”, that Atishi wants to enjoy the full paraphernalia of the CM house though her tenure at the top job would end in less than three months.
