The Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi has set the ball rolling to revive and strengthen the OBC Department of Congress Party.

This has been disclosed by Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, M.P., Chairman, OBC Department of All India Congress Committee, here today while talking to media persons alongwith Dr. Ashok Tanwar, former M.P., President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee. Mr. Sahu said that he met the representatives of backward classes of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh today. He will be visiting all the States to collect the data regarding the functioning of the OBC Cells in all the States and after that a “Blue Print” will be chalked out to strengthen these cells from ground level to the top.
Mr Sahu said that after completing the spade work, a national level rally will be held in Delhi in mid June to be addressed by the Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi. In this rally all the issues faced by the backward classes in different areas of the country will be discussed thoroughly so that they can be implemented in the right earnest.
Mr. Sahu addressing the office bearers and workers of OBC Cell of Haryana Pradesh Congress asked them to work diligently to strengthen this cell by understating the problems, the difficulties and the weakness of this unit.
Addressing the meeting Dr. Ashok Tanwar assured Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that all out efforts will be made to reach to all the categories covered under the backward classes as recognized by the Haryana Government. He said that the Pradesh Congress Committee will try to activate all the members of these communities so that Congress Party in the State is further strengthen. The PCC President assured Shri Sahu that the workers from Haryana will be attending the proposed rally of mid June in the maximum numbers.
On reaching at PCC office in Chandigarh, Dr. Sahu was profusely garlanded and was presented a Shawl by Shri Rakesh Bhadana, Chairman, OBC Cell of HPCC.
Shri Tarun Bhandari, Incharge of all Cells of Haryana PCC also addressed the meeting.
